This trip wasn’t about rushing from place to place or checking boxes—it was about slowing down, being together, and soaking in the moments that happen when family is the focus.
We covered a lot of ground, starting in Winter Park, where the air feels crisp and the mountains seem to stretch forever. Early mornings were spent scanning the tree lines, hoping to catch a glimpse of wildlife—and we got lucky. Spotting moose in the wild is one of those quiet, awe-filled moments that makes you stop talking and just watch. It felt like Colorado welcoming us in.
From there, the trip unfolded at an easy pace. We played bags, laughed way too much, and leaned into those simple moments that somehow become the best memories. In Denver, we switched gears and caught a Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field. There’s something special about baseball with the mountains in the background—sunshine, stadium snacks, and family all in one place.
One of the most unforgettable stops was the Royal Gorge Bridge. Standing above the canyon, looking out over the Arkansas River, really puts things into perspective. The views are dramatic, humbling, and impossible to fully capture in a photo. It’s one of those places that makes you feel small—in the best way.
We also spent time wandering through Garden of the Gods, where the towering red rock formations contrast beautifully against the sky. Walking those trails together, stopping often just to look around, reminded me how important it is to slow down and take it all in—especially when you’re with the people who matter most.
Our journey took us through Salida and Trinidad, each with its own charm and small-town feel. We even crossed the border into New Mexico, making the trip feel like a true adventure. Somewhere along the way, we drove over the Continental Divide—one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that still feels incredibly special when you realize where you are.
Colorado gave us wildlife sightings, breathtaking views, and plenty of laughs—but more than anything, it gave us time together. These are the trips that stay with you long after the bags are unpacked. Not because of where you went, but because of who you shared it with.
